The BSHP is run by volunteers who give their time freely to the association.
Officers

Professor Mark Nesbitt
President

The President chairs BSHP's meetings and represents the Committee and the Society as a whole to external organisations.

Mark Nesbitt is the curator of the Economic Botany Collection at Kew Gardens and author, with Kim Walker, of Just the Tonic: a Natural History of Tonic Water.

Catherine Walker
Vice President

The Vice-President acts as the President's deputy.

Catherine Walker is the Museum Manager at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Matthew Johnston
​Honorary Secretary
​
The Honorary Secretary provides secretarial support to the Committee and also acts as the Society's membership Secretary.
Matthew Johnston is a museum professional with an interest in collections information and documentation. He worked at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Museum from 2013-2020.

Dr Jemma Houghton
Honorary Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees the finances of the Society by processing payments and invoices promptly, and keeping the Society's accounts.

​Kim has a PhD in the history of medicine and is a researcher for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and an Honorary Research Associate at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Briony Hudson

The Conference Organiser plans, organises and publicises the annual conference, and takes bookings from delegates.
Briony Hudson is Director of Amersham Museum and a freelance pharmacy historian and lecturer.

Dr Stuart Anderson
Editor

The Pharmaceutical Historian's Editor liaises with contributors, receives and edits articles and sees the journal through its publication process.Stuart Anderson is editor of Making Medicines: A Brief History of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals (Pharmaceutical Press, 2005).
